As a Company Director are you aware of all of your statutory duties under the Companies Act 2006? Being a Director may not be quite as straightforward as it first appears and the consequences of failing to fulfil a Director’s obligations can be costly, not just for the business, but for Directors personally too, in some circumstances even resulting in prison sentences for the Director. This new course is aimed at not only those who are new to the role of Director, but also those who have been in the job for a while and may be in need of a reminder of what is required from to them to ensure compliance.

“… it does not matter whether an operator’s licence is held by an owner operator, a partnership or a limited company because in each case the person or persons responsible for managing the business bear the ultimate responsibility for ensuring that the road transport aspect of the business operates in compliance with the regulatory regime. That means that they cannot plead ignorance or put the blame on the transport manager because they are required to have sufficient knowledge of the regulatory regime to ensure compliance in general and the proper performance of the transport manager’s duties in particular”.  

 “An applicant or operator can be taken to be aware of the various guidance documents issued on behalf of the Senior Traffic Commissioner.”
